Restaurants & HospitalityPrivate showpiece — hand-delivered

Restobar Showpiece

A complete platform — full website and a true native iOS app — built privately for one Northern Virginia restaurant & bar, and hand-delivered before our first meeting. We don't name the restaurant: private previews stay private until an owner chooses to go live.

Built
June 2026
Scope
Web platform + native iOS app
Status
private, password-gated preview

Before

The situation every showpiece starts from.

  • Online ordering lived entirely on third-party marketplaces — every order paid a commission, and the customer relationship stayed with the platform, not the restaurant.

  • The POS-bundled website couldn't carry the brand: a stock template, no real menu presentation, no story, no reason to order direct.

  • Switching systems feels risky from the buyer's chair: quotes arrive as PDFs and promises, not as something an owner can open on a phone and tap through before signing anything.

  • A native app — the thing regulars actually ask for — gets quoted by agencies as a five-figure, months-long project on top of the website.

What we built

Proof you can hold, built before the first meeting.

This is a complete, working platform we built for a real Northern Virginia restaurant & bar — before any contract, before any payment, before our first conversation in person. It's how we'd rather sell: instead of a proposal deck, the owner receives a private link and an access code, and evaluates the actual product.

The web platform carries the full brand: cinematic hero film, the real menu, photo gallery, live map and hours — built on the same chassis as our reference builds and provisioned in days, not months.

Alongside it runs a true native iOS app — SwiftUI, not a website in a wrapper — with menu, gallery, and location tabs, plus full in-app ordering: cart, checkout, and a real order placed through Square's sandbox that lands in the order dashboard exactly the way a production order would.

Both surfaces read from one shared contract: the same content source feeds the website and the app, so a menu edit shows up everywhere at once. That architecture is what every SPAO restaurant build inherits.

The whole thing sits behind a password gate on a private URL, delivered directly to the owner. Nothing public, nothing indexed, nothing published — what a prospect sees stays theirs.

What a showpiece is, and isn't: it runs on sandbox payments and placeholder operational details until the restaurant connects its own Square account at provisioning. It demonstrates the build quality and the working order flow end to end — the production cutover (real payments, real hours, the restaurant's own domain) happens during onboarding.

After

What this way of selling gives an owner.

  • You evaluate the actual product — open the menu, place a sandbox order, watch it land in the dashboard — instead of imagining it from a PDF.

  • Days, not months: the showpiece was built and hand-delivered in under two weeks, the same window a paying build gets.

  • The native app comes from the same contract as the website — composition, not a second project at a second price.

  • Nothing goes public until you say so. Private previews are password-gated, never indexed, and never used as marketing without written consent.

How it lands

Decision thread
OwnerSPAO
  1. SPAO says:
We study the restaurant from the outside — the menu, the ordering channels, what a marketplace order actually costs.
  2. System says:
A private preview goes up on a password-gated URL: the restaurant's brand, menu, and photos. Nothing public, nothing indexed.
  3. SPAO says:
The owner receives the link and access code directly from us — usually before the first meeting.
  4. Owner says:
Open it on a phone. Browse the menu, add dishes, place a test order through the sandbox checkout.
  5. System says:
The order lands in the dashboard the way a real one would — and the native iOS app runs the same flow from your pocket.
  6. Owner says:
Decide with the product in hand — keep it, change it, or walk away. The preview costs nothing.
